PLEASE SMILE

Shrill of my first cries;
Mother though in post labour tiredness
A smile bloomed on her lips.
This journey,
How many long years
I carry lunch of laughter
In my travel bag.
How many innocent eyes
I caused to shed tears!
Pray, don’t weep,
Darling, please smile!
Hark, the rumble,
Death's chariot is approaching!
adieu, dearie, adieu!
