AFTER – GLOW

Read,
Re-read,
Got elated.
A whisper within :
“Hurrah, a masterpiece!”
It smiled
From the pages of some prestigious magazine
But, as usual the fate was not different.

Inside the untouched folds
And under the weight
Of scribbled sheets dumped
In the dust- bin
In front of the publisher’s house
My script heaved.

Still I wish
(Whose frontiers are beyond the horizon)
That some day my poems
Will be attired in printer’s link.
Wonderstruck readers will exclaim:
Who is the poet?

A twinkle singular,
A throbbing brilliance in the galaxy;
But the star is dead already.
